Privacy Policy

Effective date: May 9, 2026

Last updated: May 9, 2026

WhereIsIt is an offline-first home inventory app published by Yasin SUBAŞI. For privacy questions or requests related to this policy, contact yasin.subasi41@gmail.com.

In this release, we do not operate an account system, cloud sync service, AI service, advertising SDK, analytics SDK, or third-party tracking service.

Data you enter, including homes, rooms, containers, items, tags, reminders, layout shapes, and photo references, is stored locally on your device in the app database and file storage. Photos you add remain local unless you export or share them yourself using your device features.

The app may ask for camera access to scan QR/barcodes and capture item photos, photo library access to choose item photos, notification permission to schedule local reminders, and document access when you import or export your own backup files. These permissions are used only for the feature you choose, and you can revoke any of them at any time from your device settings.

WhereIsIt does not sell personal data, does not show ads, and does not send your inventory to our servers in this offline-only release. Exported files are created only when you choose Export Data, and you control where those files are saved or shared.

We use the security features your operating system provides. Sensitive material such as encryption keys is stored in the iOS Keychain or Android Keystore through the platform secure-storage API. Inventory records are stored in the app's private storage area, which other apps cannot read on a non-rooted, non-jailbroken device.

Independent of this app, Apple and Google may collect installation, crash, device, and diagnostic data through their platform services, governed by their own privacy policies. WhereIsIt does not add its own analytics or tracking SDK on top of that platform telemetry. App Store Connect and Google Play Console may surface aggregated crash and diagnostic information from those platform services to the developer.

WhereIsIt is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them. Because all data is stored on the device, it can be removed by the device owner using Settings → Delete All Data, or by uninstalling the app. If you believe a child has used this app and you need help removing local app data, contact yasin.subasi41@gmail.com.

Because all inventory data stays on your device, you have full control over it. You can view your data inside the app, export it as a JSON file from Settings → Export Data, and delete it from Settings → Delete All Data. Uninstalling the app may also remove local app data according to your operating system behavior. These actions cover the access, portability, and deletion rights granted under the EU GDPR and the California CCPA. For any other request related to those rights, contact yasin.subasi41@gmail.com.

Future versions may add optional account, cloud sync, collaboration, or AI features. If those features are released, this policy and the app disclosures will be updated before they are enabled.

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, the "Last updated" date above will reflect the most recent change. Material changes will be communicated in-app before they take effect.
